Special-Area Botox

Small muscles, specific results

Botox can relax a single small muscle to correct one specific habit of the face. Areas treated here: cobblestone chin; flaring nostrils; a nose tip that drops when you smile ('arrow nose'); downturned mouth corners; lip flip; gummy smile; 'samurai' brows; enlarged salivary glands; an overdeveloped temporal muscle; prominent neck bands (platysma); and vertical lines above the upper lip.

How it is chosen

The doctor watches how your face moves when you talk and smile before choosing the point and dose. Four toxin grades are offered — domestic, domestic pure toxin, imported pure toxin and imported premium (original Allergan Botox). Pure toxins have fewer complexing proteins, to lower the chance of resistance; the doctor explains the difference at consultation.
