Skin Botox

What it does

Skin botox places very small amounts of toxin into the skin rather than the muscle. It is used for enlarged pores, fine lines and an even surface, and is a frequent part of the clinic's pore and acne programmes.

Areas

Full-face layering; the jawline and butterfly zone for pores and redness; and the neck for fine lines. Four toxin grades are offered — domestic, domestic pure toxin, imported pure toxin and imported premium (original Allergan Botox). Pure toxins have fewer complexing proteins, to lower the chance of resistance; the doctor explains the difference at consultation.

What to expect

Small bumps settle quickly; the smoothing effect appears over the following days.
