Why it needs skill

Forehead skin is among the thinnest on the face, so uneven or unnatural results are easy. The forehead's shape, size, width, contour and volume are all considered to design the forehead that suits you best.

By forehead type

A broad forehead with a prominent brow bone or a sloping forehead is filled evenly for a smooth, rounded shape. A flat forehead is built up in the centre, which also makes the face look smaller and the features clearer. An uneven forehead is filled where it dips. A forehead that is low compared with the nose bridge is balanced so the face reads three-dimensionally.

Safety

Two safety rules apply to fillers here. A blunt-tipped cannula is used rather than a sharp needle in areas where vessels are at risk — it takes more technique, but the clinic does not trade safety for convenience (lips and chin, where the risk of vessel blockage is lower, are done with a needle). During injection the doctor repeatedly checks for any sign of vessel injury, and the day after treatment the clinic calls to check on your progress. All medical staff train regularly for emergencies so that a problem can be acted on immediately.
